I have scheduled for my first section of the CPA exam, the way I calculate it, in six months time I should be finishing up with the last section. Provided I pass of course, I plan on going to straight into graduate school for a masters in accounting. For the most part I'm confined to New Jersey (Essex County area) so I'm probably going to land on Rutgers--Newark.
I'm not sure which masters degree will help my chances with getting into one of the Big 4. I am interested in auditing but to my knowledge there isn't a M.S. in auditing, atleast not in New Jersey. Rutgers offers three Masters degree programs for accountants:
1. M.S. in Taxation
2. M.S. in Govermental Accounting
3. M.S. in Accounting
I'm not sure which direction to move in. I'm jumping back an forth between Taxation and governmental Accounting, not sure which would be best. Does anyone know which graduate degrees the Big 4 favor?
