USA Want to switch from QB to ?? HELP

Hello, I work with a small home building company and we have been with QB for 9 years. We have '3' small companies that I keep books for. The home building being the largest. QB Is now charging us $1900/year for Desktop and I can't seem to get anywhere when I talk to them to get this cheaper. With this said, I am ready to switch to a new Program - however, I have no clue where to start or what may compare or be equivalent! Can anyone help lead/guide me with advice and recommendations? Thank you!
