Quicken 2011 slow

Quicken is very sluggish for me. Pretty much everything about it - launching, entering regular and investment transactions in the register, and exiting.

• I have 2011 deluxe, but had the problem with my previous version (2008) as well
• Data file is about 55MB - about 12 years worth of transactions. I experimented with archiving all but the last 5 years, reducing the data file by about 50% - very little improvement.
• Data file resides on a network share, but have tried moving it local, also not much improvement.
• Windows 7, 8GB RAM and quad core CPU

Any ideas on how to speed it up? Is my data file large enough that I should consider upgrading to something better e.g. maybe QuickBooks?
