Question about being an Accountant

Okay so I live in New York State and want to attend a local college for a major that's called
Business Administration with Accounting Major. Basically it's and accounting major with running a business etc.

But they also offer a program for M.B.A /CPA in accounting. Now I know of course this will most likely allow me to earn more money. But is there a way other than going to college to get my CPA license, like a test for a day and then I get my license?

and if anyone is an accountant in NY please tell me how you like your job, any details or anything, good or bad.

Here on our country,we have to take a four year course then take exam to be certified.Some people think being an accountant you need to be good in numbers.Partially yes and partially no.You can learn as you work.
