Evening Standard said:
"Accountancy watchdogs today launched an investigation into Healthcare Locums, the medical recruitment firm founded by Kate Bleasdale that admitted the discovery of a financial black hole in January.

The Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board said that it was looking into "the conduct of certain members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and of BDO, as auditors of Healthcare Locums".

The investigation is focusing on the preparation, approval and audit of the firm's financial statements for 2008 and 2009, its interim financial statements for the six months to July 2010, and its discounting facility with Barclays Bank last year.

The AADB said it is also examining "the conduct of certain members in relation to historic issues around compliance by Healthcare Locums and subsidiaries with the NHS terms and conditions" between January 2008 and June 2010."
