UK Microsoft Money File Error '.'

Good morning,

Despite the withdrawal of support for Money, I have continued to happily use Money but now two of the optional reports ( Account Transactions and Transactions by Category) do not open as the message (there has been an error reading or writing to file '.') closes the option and the Money program. This is probably a well known situation but I cannot find a remedy.

So I have two questions please.

Is there a known solution to the file error situation?

and if this problem persists or even spreads to other reports

What alternative personal finance software could I use that gives the same depth and solid accounting experience as Money ?

Have you tried the "File Repair" might be worth a shot?
