UK Machine Games Duty Postings

I am probably going to look very foolish asking this but hey!

I have just taken on a treasurer role and the company have just paid Machine Games Duty to HMRC.

Obviously i need to show this payment out of the bank account but which account do I post the opposite entry, is it vat?

It is a tax, but it's not VAT. Presumably it's been paid before, so can't you look back in the accounts to see where it went the last time? There's probably a MGD account somewhere.
