Mother owns a business. Adult daughter works in business casually. She is on centrelink benefits.
She earns under the threshold of 18k. She doesn't want to be put on the books as an employee
and doesn't want to be a contractor or register with an ABN.
For the daughter, this work is just a hobby.
As a bookkeeper, how would you handle that.

Start with making sure the owner knows the situation you described, how it affects the company and then ask for direction from the owner. Do NOT bring up the centrelink benefits.

Can you pay someone in Australia (cash in hand) without putting them on the payroll or processing invoice from them? If this is illegal as it is in UK I would I start with explaining it to the owner.
