I would like to hold [large amounts of] money in Euros as well as £s, & exchange money between the two; AFAIK I can either open an account in the ROI in Euros [I live in NI], or use an ‘offshore’ account. But in either case, I’ll be stuck with the bank’s exchange rate.
So what I would also like to be able to do is shop around for a good rate online, & pay the exchange company by bank transfer [which seems to be possible], & then transfer the Euros into my ROI or offshore account [ie it’s like an International Currency Transfer, except that the recipient is me, & I may not be abroad (if I pay into an offshore account)]. Does anyone know if this is possible?
