I am self-employed and have a DCAP (outside a cafeteria plan). Form 2441 supports this, because it asks on line 12 for "amounts you received under a DCAP from your sole proprietorship." However, when I get to line 24, the instructions say to enter the deductible benefits on Schedule C, line 14.
This doesn't make any sense. First of all, the schedule C benefits are a fixed entity--a certain dollar amount that was/wasn't paid out. Second, even if I do go and change the benefit amount on Schedule C, the whole thing recalculates and I end up with a new value on form 2441 line 24. This loop appears to be infinite. Help! What am I missing?
