UK Director of limited company paid for refurbishment before limited company was formed

If the director of a limited company paid for refurbishment of premises before the limited company was formed, is there a way of transferring this payment so that the refurbishment becomes an asset of the limited company and the payment for the refurbishment becomes part of the director's loan to the company?
