USA Deductible transportation?

[AGH the CPA]

If we have an employee who takes a taxi from his home to the airport to go on a business trip, is that taxi ride a deductible expense? (I know on the other side when he arrives, the taxi ride to thehotel is but Im having difficulty finding an answer for the taxi ride TO the airport)

Let me ask you - does your question still get asked if he takes a taxi from the office to the airport?

From the office to the airport yes but not from his home to the office...

We deduct as its part of the cost of travel required for the job. Its not important where the pickup is made from.
