USA Correct Expense Accounting for...

Which expense account would you use to record the cost of a replacement exterior sign (bronze plate) for your company?

• Repairs and Maintenance
• Grounds

Helpful notes: It's a church and all of our infrastructural improvements go through the Repairs and Maint. account.

I'm just curious because it's the first expense I've come across where both accounts make great sense.

It might be useful to define each of the accounts and their purpose. The idea here would be consistency. If you consider any interior or exterior building repairs to the repairs account, and any non building repairs (landscaping, lawn, etc) as Grounds. So long as you can compare expenses year over year.
