Hello. I'm at a crossroads. I have an MBA in HR but have landed in Accounting/Finance roles throughout my tenure (6 years now) I've held positions in retail banking, collections, charge backs, AR, corporate staff accountant, etc.) Because I don't have a traditional accounting degree, I feel say there are many holes in my skillset. For eg I've had little exposure to AP. I want to move up in my career (currently I'm a Staff Accountant) but want to fill in those training gaps without going back to a traditional school. So far I've been self teaching and gaining experience on the job but what are some efficient ways to supplement my training?

With respect to your desire to have exposure to AP, typically this is learned through being assigned to an AP group. So, consider approaching your management to see if they will allow you to cross-train in AP. You'll need to "sell" this if management does not appear interested in doing this.
