My situation:
I've worked in South Korea over 1.5 years and will continue to be in Korea at least for another six months.
In 2015 I worked some in CA and half the year in Korea but didn't need to file due to not making past the income cap.
In 2016 I have no CA income and have only worked in Korea. I have not gone back more than 12 days for vacation in 2016.
Am i considered a non resident?
If so... Me not having Californian income means I do not have to file CA taxes according to the site. I do make past the income limit but I still have no CA income and it requires you to qualify for both to need to file.
My question is... how does CA know I am under the Safe Harbor Act or do I need to file something to claim this act? I will file my federal income (AGI being 0 due to foreign earned income exclusion act)
