Hello,

I am filing as Individual in the state of New York.

In 2015, I opened an investment account, a mutual fund operated by a broker and handled through TD Ameritrade. The amount deposited, essentially "paid" (at least, according to my statements and account), was $200,000. Is this amount, which is no longer in any of my accounts, but instead with the investment firm, tax deductible in some way?

I am doing my taxes myself, using TurboTax.

Thanks for any help!
:)

No. Deposit not deductible. Also, Ameritrade should have sent you tax forms for 2015. If there is a 1099 INT or 1099 DIV you need to report that on your tax return.
