Canada Accounting Technician Online diploma - can I get a job with this?

35yo aspiring accountant here, looking to get started with school but I want to make the right choice. I'm thinking Accounting Technician because i don't want to do a full degree yet as I'd rather start work sooner and probably upgrade later. Will I be able to get a job as a certified accounting technician, and does it matter if the program is online? It's through a real college (Norquest College in Alberta) , not a diploma mill.

If you are interested in pursuing an accounting career, then I highly recommend getting a degree. In you position, it is likely valuable to pursue your CPA. It has high earnings (through hard work) once achieved and gives you a longer and more lucrative career path when compared to a certificate.
